On July 22nd, 2021, AREI leadership representatives had a meeting with Mr. Dan Barna, Vice Prime Minister of Romania. One of the key topics approached during the discussions focused on the opportunity to attract new investments and capital flows in Romania, by developing a national legal framework for REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). The AREI community is happy to contribute with its expertise, the relevant input of its European partners in this area and share the best practices in terms of REITs legislation and operation in other leading countries in the EU and worldwide, and support the national authorities in this direction.

 

A follow-up meeting with the VPM Dan Barna’s team of advisors took place on July 27th, at the AREI’s kind request, to discuss about the potential working scenarios and measures in which the owners of shopping centers – AREI members from the retail industry, may support the authorities in increasing in the rate of the vaccination campaign in Romania.
