AREI Position Paper on the 5% VAT topic submitted to the Parliament

The Association of Real Estate Investors in Romania (AREI) submitted to the Senate – first decisional chamber, the AREI Position Paper on the draft law approving the Emergency Ordinance nr. 226/2020 that provides for the postponement of the new 5% VAT threshold for housing. Our analysis contains substantiated arguments on the negative impact for the final consumer, the state and the industry, as a result of postponing the implementation of the new 5% VAT threshold for housing.

AREI will remain actively engaged in the public debate process on the topic of the 5% VAT threshold as the discussions unfold in the relevant standing commissions in the Senate as well as in the Chamber of Deputies – the final decisional chamber.
